Archives and Apology

If you are a new reader of my blog, please be aware that I have had this blog since July 8, 2005, and that you may read all of my journal by accessing the Archives, month by month.  I began this blog to record my family's history--- their old-timey, simple, country way of life--- and my memories of growing up in the '50's and '60's in Waco, Texas, with current events thrown in.     

My blog allowed me to record the everyday and the out- of -the -ordinary happenings in my family and the world around us.  I really thought it was just a fun thing, a little pastime that I enjoyed, only blogging if I had something perhaps of interest to others, as well as for my own and my family's benefit.

And then, into my life and my family's life, came a woman----- School Superintendent Carla Sue Sigler.  The Cranfills Gap, Texas , Independent School District hired this woman as 2006-2007 Superintendent, and life changed for everybody whose lives she touched. I have yet to run across anyone who is neutral on Carla--you either hate her or love her.  She is a true "divider". To this day, Carla Sigler has rabid supporters who think she is a saint, and rabid opponents who think she is Satan incarnate.  

I believe a person should be judged by what they do, not by what they say do or by what they tell you they will do.  Actions speak louder than words.  I believe your actions prove who you are, and negative actions have negative consequences. That is why I decided folks should know about the negative actions of former Cranfills Gap School Superintendent Carla Sigler and Cranfills Gap ISD school board members Kenneth Wiese, Jeff Rose, Kathie Witte, Shelly Stuart, Virgil Tindall, and Jackie Ray Sorrels--to prove who they are. Their egregious actions speak for themselves.  

I believe it is especially appalling that educator Carla Sigler and her friends purposely caused great harm to a child--not withstanding that this particular child just happens to be my own niece--Kaitlan Head, the 2007 Cranfills Gap valedictorian who was banned from her own graduation ceremony as retaliation against an adult. I would be as outraged if it were a child I had never met. Carla Sigler and the Cranfills Gap school board not only purposely harmed a child, they knowingly broke the law to do so.

Since Carla Sigler came into my life, I thank the Lord every day for  my blog and the ability to describe Carla and her friends despicable actions and lies to the world. I believe people should be held accountable for their actions, whether those actions are good or bad. And I will be the first to tell you that Carla Sigler has certainly had an effect on my life that will last forever.

So, to the pre-Carla  readers of my blog, I offer an apology, and, once again, ask you to bear with me. As my wise and witty mother, Marie Ellison Head, used to say, " This too shall pass. A hundred years from now, no one will give a damn, and, besides, we'll all be dead anyway!"
