Lotta Rain!
The drought was finally broken when my area had over eight inches of rain in a week not long ago. Finally, RAIN! Now the grass is growing and everything is green. My horses finally have plenty of green grass to eat. I am hoping to buy this year's new oat hay from Phillip, my friend in Riesel, that I bought hay from last year, too. Due to the drought of several years, hay has gone up in price, so much so that it is difficlut to find and buy. Many of my friends have liquidated their stock, both horses and cattle, as cannot afford to feed them. I have fed alfalfa hay from Arizona and Bermuda Grass hay, also from Arizona. Good hay, but just like solid gold in price! Whoopeee!!! We have made it through the winter, so all will be okey-dokey.

Catching up
Have not had time to turn around lately! Plan to write about some more old-timey stuff asap. School is keeping me busy, and, of course, I am at DePaul on weekends. I did get a raise...that is a great place to work, money-wise and loving what I am doing. I feel I am helping people and perhaps making a difference in their lives. Went to Walmart after work today..it was late...I needed some cough syrup...sinus had had me hacking pretty badly...I went to the Waco Walmart and not my usual Bellmead Walmart, where everyone knows me and I see so many of my school students.....I thought that I would not see a soul I knew as on the wrong side of town for that..but there was a young lady and her beautiful little baby girl who I had met thru work that came up and said Hello. She wanted me to know they are all doing fine, as she knew I really cared about her and her situation. I am glad so many folks remember me in a nice way. Hopefully I am able to make someone's day a little brighter or help them in some way. I think what you put out comes back to you..if you put out ugly, you get ugly back. I want to always put out nice and get nice back. And if folks are not nice back, I know I have honestly done my part, that the problem is them and not me. The Golden Rule that I learned in Sunday School and from my parents almost sixty years ago is still something I try to live by. The world would be a better place if more people tried being nicer to each other. have to go dig back out the electric blanket I just put away ...cold tonight!!!
